Let me show you what some users are saying about Black & Decker CM1936 19-Inch 36-Volt Cordless Electric Lawn Mower With Removable BatteryThis mower lives up to my expectations. Had Ryobi cordless mower before and really liked it. Then when could no longer find battery, went with Lowe's equivalent. Very noisy and battery died right at 2 years. When I say died I mean it, would not hold any charge. This mower much more like the Ryobi, nice and quiet and has charge a plenty to mow both front and back yards. Wish had better blade for mowing which is why I am only rating 4 stars. Also like that I can by spare battery and have on standby. review by C. White {read the original review here} I am pleased with this purchase. This is a good strong battery powered mower that does the job right. If you have more than a half acre, I would strongly recommend a replacement battery so that you can get your yard done without having to recharge the battery and wait until the next day. The mower overall is quiet and easy to use. I would recommend this mower to anyone looking for a better alternative to a gas or electric powered mower. review by Samuel {read the original review here} This review is only on appearance, haven't had the opprotunity to use this product yet. Too much winter in California. The price was excellent and the Mower came well packaged with no missing parts or damage. It does have rather thick sides which won't allow you to get close of anything which converts to more trimming. The battery is very convenient for removal and charging. I haven't used the mower yet but based on what I have seen it is an excellent purchase and look forward to many years of service. The price from Amazon is about $85 less than the same mower from Lowes or Home Depot. review by Merle H. Angell {read the original review here} I have only used this mower three time so far to this is the initial impression. I have a small yard. It only takes me 15 minutes to cut the grass and that includes the time to get the mower out of the shed and put it back in so I have never taxed this mower's ability to run for any length of time. It is nice to mow with this mower. My neighbors houses are literally 10 feet on either side of me. I used to wait until late morning to mow, now I don't have to. I can cut at anytime without bothering anyone. I can even mow while my neighbor is having a get together in his back yard with out bothering them. I did not get the self-propelled version and I am glad. This mower is so light compared to the gas mower that I was pushing last year. I bet I can push it faster than the self-propelled version can self-propel anyway. Height adjustment is really easy with one handle near the right rear wheel. The mower does not bag the grass very well. I used to have to empty the bag once between going from the back to front yard but now it only catches about half a bag after doing the whole thing. I decided to just mulch and that works fine. I do recommend sharpening the blade before using it. I suspect that the rpm is lower than a gas mower and the cut wasn't very good at first. After sharpening the blade the cut is much better. I store the mower in a shed so I have to remove the battery for charging (that's why I got a model with a removable battery) I take it into the garage for charging. It would be really nice if the battery had a single handle on top. Instead you have to hold on to the two side handles and they don't have enough to grip so that you can carry with one hand. You have to use two hands to carry it. It would just be so much more convienient if you could use one hand so I could, for instance, turn the garage door knob without having to set the battery down. Time will tell if I have any issues with the battery holding a charge. They recommend leaving it plugged in whenever it is not in use. It is nice that you don't have to worry about overcharging and battery memory since I don't use much of the charge every week. review by K. Ingmanson {read the original review here} I purchased this mower through Amazon earlier this year, to replace an old gas mower, to mow my 1/4 acre lot. Used it yesterday on high grass heavy with dew, and it worked like a champ! It mowed the entire lawn and didn't appear to be losing power even after 1/2 hour of mowing. I love the easy start, the one-hand height adjustment and being able to take the battery into my basement for charging is really convenient. I've tried both the mulching and the bag settings, and, based on the amount of clippings I am gathering, the mower appears to do a bit of mulching even on the bag setting (which is fine with me). My lawn looks just as it did with the gas mower but the B&D electric mower is so much quieter and easier to use than my gas mower that I am extremely pleased with my decision. review by R'sider {read the original review here} |
